Influence of Dietary Lysine Level on Growth Performance, Feed Efficiency, and Body Composition of Sangkuriang Catfish (Clarias gariepinus var. Sangkuriang) Fingerlings

The high consumer demand in Indonesia encourages catfish farmers to conduct an intensive culture. A low feed efficiency mainly occurs cultivating Sangkuriang resulting poor growth. This condition might be caused by lysine content, as is essential amino acid that the fish cannot synthesize. present study aimed investigate effect of supplementation on protein digestibility, efficiency, and growth (Clarias gariepinus var. Sangkuriang) fingerlings. used 270 with average wet weight 7.54 ± 0.13 g/fish. experimental contained protein, energy, acid, then various doses were added feed: (1) 0.0%, (2) 0.5%, (3) 1.0%, (4) 1.5%, (5) 2.0%, (6) 2.5%. Weight gain (WG), digestibility (ADCp), utilization (EFU), relative rate (RGR), conversion ratio (FCR), (PER), retention (PR) evaluated for 8 weeks. results found significantly (P < 0.05) influenced WG, ADCp, EFU, RGR, FCR, PER, PR fingerling. However, there was no significant > SR 1% lysine/kg optimal dose improve fingerlings 83.79% 3.94%/day, respectively. Therefore, could increase production.
